Why Michigan Football’s Aidan Hutchinson should be No. 1 pick
Loyalty
When Aidan Hutchinson was asked earlier last offseason about why he decided to come back to Michigan football, he said it was because he couldn’t stand how the way the ’20-21 season ended.
Michigan football went 2-4 that year, and Aidan Hutchinson broke his leg in the third game of that season against Indiana. Aidan Hutchinson would’ve had months to rest his leg and be a Day 2 pick, making millions, but he decided to come back.
I can’t tell you how rare it is for a player that’s a borderline Day 1 pick to come back, risk injury, all to vow to play better, and help his team win along the way.
Aidan came back to beat Ohio State and win a Big Ten title. It’s as simple as that. And that he did. All of it. His legacy is forever complete at Michigan, shattering numerous Michigan football records, and winning many individual awards along the way.
Most players of his caliber would’ve dipped out and gone to the draft, but Aidan decided to come back. That tells you even more about his personality, that he is team-first, win-first, and he lets his play do the talking.
That bodes well for any team that drafts him. They’ll get his total loyalty, and he’ll be 100% devoted to that team. Not every NFL player is like that, often bolting for the first payday they can find somewhere else.
