Why Michigan Football’s Aidan Hutchinson should be No. 1 pick
A few reasons why Michigan football’s Aidan Hutchinson should be the No. 1 pick in the 2022 NFL draft.
I shouldn’t even have to write this article, to be honest. It should be known already. What’s known shouldn’t need to be said out loud, but I digress. Call me a homer, call me whatever you want. Unfortunately, in pretty much every draft, there is a debate about who should be drafted #1 overall. 2022 is no different.
Most years, the #1 pick is dedicated to the quarterback that an NFL franchise deems worthy of that first spot, but this is one of those rare years where there is no consensus #1 pick, and the few good (but not generational, or so scouts and analysts say) quarterbacks in the draft (Kenny Pickett, Matt Corral, Malik Willis, Carson Strong, etc.) are projected to be borderline top-10 picks, and could even fall anywhere from top-10 to back of the first round.
So this has opened the door for the debate to rage on. The consensus is that a pass rusher will be drafted with the first pick, with the only question being which one. Either Oregon’s Kayvon Thibodeaux or Michigan football’s Aidan Hutchinson.
Various mock drafts have gone back and forth for months over which pass rusher should be #1. I’m here to tell you why Aidan is more deserving of that #1 spot.
