Michigan football has some elite in-state QB recruits in the next two recruiting classes such as Dante Moore or CJ Carr. How could they make a difference as well as could they possibly propel Michigan into National Championship contender status?

Michigan football has its ducks in a row and everything in front of it exactly how the Wolverines want it to be. After a catastrophically horrific 2020 campaign, Michigan responded in 2021 with one of the best seasons in Michigan Football history. During the season, we saw younger guys start to step up and make an immediate impact that already has fans excited about next year.

However, I am not talking about the players on the team, I am talking about specifically one of the best players to ever come out of the state of Michigan, as well as one of the best QB, ‘s in the 2023 recruiting class, Dante Moore.

Moore stands at 6’2 and is a true gunslinging quarterback. Moore’s impeccable accuracy and athletic ability boasted him the 3rd best QB in the class, only behind the top two recruits Arch Manning and Malachi Nelson.

Moores potential impact on Michigan is unimaginable. This would be the 6th best recruit Michigan has ever landed in the era of internet recruiting rankings, placing him behind names like Rashan Gary and Jabrill Peppers. There is a gap of about 150 players from his national ranking to the 2nd best player in Michigan’s national ranking to put the talent gap into perspective.

Not just that, but this is one of the best recruits of all time period coming out of Michigan. He’d be the 3rd highest-rated player ever barring any significant dropoffs on his composite rating. With 5-Star QB J.J. McCarthy already at Michigan, this opens up a window of opportunity for Harbaugh to finally get some serious talent consistently at the QB position. In Harbaugh’s tenure, the “QB Whisperer” has only had one QB drafted, Jake Rudock who was a late-round pick.

Although Georgia somewhat proved the stigma wrong with winning a national championship without a 1st round talent at QB, almost every other year has boasted that incorrect with names such as Mac Jones, Joe Burrow, and so on. QB has been the one position where Michigan has not been able to churn out consistent elite production, and that could all change starting now.

Getting Dante Moore would be big, but after 2023 Michigan is looking at landing potentially the best QB in the 2024 class, CJ Carr, who is the great Lloyd Carr’s grandson.

While it may not be likely for Michigan to land both, there is still a chance it happens. I expect both of them to be out of college by their junior year regardless of where they go, so it opens up the potential to have a consistent flow of top talent under the helm for the next few years.

If you thought that was it, you’re nuts. While this is way into the future, it’s still something to note. Bryce Underwood who is a 2025 class led Belleville to a State Championship his freshman year, not just that but he is equipped with elite mobility as well. Bryce was named National Freshman of the year, so saying the future could be bright is an understatement.

One can only hope that Michigan football is able to persuade all these QB’s to come to Michigan, but even just landing one (preferably Dante Moore) could put one of Michigan’s biggest weaknesses the last few years at bay for a while.
