Michigan football lost two reserve cornerbacks to the transfer portal Wednesday, with CB Andre Seldon and CB George Johnson III announcing their departures.

Teams are losing players left and right to the transfer portal these days, and Michigan football has lost a pair this morning.

It started with nickel cornerback Andre Seldon this morning announcing his departure with a tweet. George Johnson III soon followed, also using Twitter to announce his intention to leave.

Seldon was an in-state talent, playing his high school ball at Belleville. 247Sports Composite rankings had him as the 161st ranked player in the class of 2020, and fourth in the state of Michigan.  Seldon only made appearances in two games over his two years in Ann Arbor, against Rutgers in 2020 and against Northern Illinois this past season.

Johnson, on the other hand, was a three-star recruit according to 247Sports out of Stuart, Florida. Billed as a versatile athlete, capable of playing dual-threat quarterback, cornerback, safety, or wide receiver at the next level, he bounced between wide receiver and the secondary at Michigan, only playing in just a few non-conference games this past season, according to his official team profile.

Seldon and Johnson III represent the third and fourth departures to the transfer portal that the Wolverines have seen this offseason, following linebacker Anthony Solomon and cornerback Darion Green-Warren.

Another departure for the Wolverines on Wednesday came in the form of Daylen Baldwin, who declared for the NFL draft despite having a year of eligibility left. This is on the heels of both Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo entering the NFL draft as well.
