2. Mike Hart

I’ve written this before but I believe that Mike Hart will be Michigan football’s head coach someday. Of course, I was thinking Jim Harbaugh would be around longer when I said that, but you never know, it could be his time earlier than expected.

The only thing about Hart is that his experience is somewhat limited. He’s been a running backs coach at Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Syracuse, and Indiana, where he was also the associate head coach.

At Michigan, he’s also just the running backs coach, although that should change even if Harbaugh stays. His leadership made a huge impact on this team and the culture and even if Hart isn’t the next head coach, it’s essential that he’s kept on staff.

Hart is a dynamic leader and he loves Michigan. He’s also really smart. If he was hired, Gattis could run the offense, along with Moore, and hopefully, Macdonald would stick around.

It would be a risk to hire either Gattis or Hart since neither has head-coaching experience, but looking back, the Wolverines could have hired Harbaugh when they got Rich Rod.

They didn’t probably because he was green in the head coaching world at the time and it proved to be a mistake. Maybe it would be a mistake to let Hart go too.
