3 Predictions for Michigan Basketball against Rutgers
Rutgers won’t hit 70
Michigan is ranked 21st according to the Kenpom rankings and is the No. 41 adjusted defense but this team just isn’t consistent.
The Wolverines led by 12 at UCF. They were in complete control and the defense completely fell apart. Thankfully, Rutgers isn’t loaded with shooters but Ron Harper can certainly cause some problems and Geo Baker can too.
Slowing down Harper is going to be the biggest key for the Wolverines and Moussa Diabate will need to be at his best. At times, he will come up with blocks and steals but also lacks discipline.
As long as Diabate doesn’t allow Harper to do what Jameson Battle of Minnesota did, then the Wolverines should be able to hold Rutgers under 70 points. The Scarlet Knights are a grind-it-out type of team but unfortunately for them, that style hasn’t worked well against Michigan.
Michigan has the size to defend inside and if Rutgers is going to win this game, it will need to hit some perimeter shots, which hasn’t been a strength.
