Michigan Football DL signee wins all-star game MVP

Michigan football signee Derrick Moore, a four-star defensive lineman, was named Most Valuable Player at the 2022 Under Armour All-American Game.
Every year, the nation’s top high school seniors gather together for a handful of all-star games, with the most prominent one being ESPN’s game, sponsored by Under Armour and held at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida.
In years past, prominent names such as Deion Sanders and Ed Reed have coached players for the week’s worth of practices leading up to the exhibition game.
This season, Derrick Moore, a four-star defensive end out of St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, MD), was one of the most dominant players on the field, tallying two sacks and MVP. His efforts helped propel Team Icons over Team Legends in a 23-17 contest. He signed with the Michigan football team on Early Signing Day this past December.
Derrick Moore balled out for his friend
Moore even had a very touching dedication to Aaron Wilson, a former teammate of his at St. Frances who passed away last April due to high-grade midline glioma, wearing Wilson’s number the entire week at practices, and wearing a shit beneath his jersey and shoulder pads with a picture of Wilson on it.
When interviewed after the game by 247Sports, Moore dedicated his performance to Wilson and his family, stating “I’m glad to be out here and I’m glad to be out here playing for Aaron Wilson. I balled out for him.”
Moore was joined in this game by several other Michigan signees in the 2022 class, notably five-star cornerback Will Johnson, four-star safety Keon Sabb, and four-star wide receiver Amorion Walker.
While the Wolverines season may not have ended on a sour note in the College Football Playoffs, the future in Ann Arbor certainly looks bright with promising talents like Derrick Moore and Will Johnson preparing to join the team this coming fall.
