Play of the Week

For the third time this year, our Play of the Week goes to Moussa Diabate.

You can choose which alley-oop was your favorite (mine was the lob from Frankie Collins), but what isn’t up for debate is how exciting Diabate is to watch.

The uber-athletic freshman forward seems to do this at least once every game and it never gets old.

While the dunks might not be newly encouraging, what is encouraging about these two plays are the passes.

Both Devante’ Jones and Frankie Collins put these passes on the money and the point guard play has been improving over the past couple of weeks.

Jones’ play, in particular, has reached a new level as he averaged 10 points, three rebounds, and 5.6 assists over the past three games.

Compared to his season averages of 7.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 4.1 assists he showed much-needed improvement recently, and if the Wolverines want to turn this somewhat disappointing season around, Jones will play a huge role in doing so.
