Mike Hart

In his first season back in Ann Arbor after coaching at Indiana, Mike Hart was a revelation. He was spectacular for the culture and he always was an incredible leader.

You could see his impact on the running back position. Hassan Haskins broke the Michigan football record for rushing touchdowns in a single season and was flat-out dominant. Blake Corum and Donovan Edwards both made huge impacts and the position has a bright future.

Michigan is also going to want to keep Hart on staff for as long as possible. I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, I can see Hart being Michigan’s head coach someday.

Harbaugh should make him assistant head coach and gauge his interest for co-offensive coordinator if Gattis does leave.

Teams are going to come after Hart and they will be offering those things — promotions, better titles, better pay — so the Wolverines need to step up.

This staff was a huge part of the team’s success in 2021 and Harbaugh must do everything he can to keep as much of it intact as possible.
