4. Michigan holds the Hawks inside the 10 (1:16 3Q)

What a way to steal any and all confidence that the Iowa Hawkeyes had by making Alex Padilla flustered in the pocket with nowhere to go. When it seemed like Iowa could have mounted a comeback at the same time, it felt impossible because of massive plays like this.

Iowa was able to move the ball downfield every once and a while and this game could have been closer if the Hawkeyes were able to convert those drives to points, but Michigan’s defense followed a popularized term “Bend but don’t break”

Michigan’s defense went after Petras and Padilla all game forcing bad throws, interceptions, fumbles, and anything else you could think of. PFF a popular College Football Analytics page rated Aidan Hutchinson and Chris Hinton’s performance the highest on Championship Weekend.

And with the Wolverines leading 21-3, Michigan came up with another stop in the red zone after forcing Iowa to turn it over on downs.
