2. Michigan belongs as the #2 seed in the CFP

This is an overreaction because the maize and blue should be the No. 1 team in the playoff rankings. They did everything that the committee asked of them besides losing to Michigan State by a close margin and it can be argued that they were screwed out of a win which would mean a perfect 13-0 heading into the matchup with Georgia or someone else.

The throttling of Iowa left no doubt who the best team in the nation was in my mind, along with the resume that they bring to the table.

However, Alabama’s triumph over Georgia is nothing to scoff at. They handled the previous top school in the rankings and it doesn’t hurt that there is an SEC bias that the SEC would never admit to.

Alabama has a worse loss than Michigan but may have a better win over Georgia, compared to Michigan’s win over Ohio State.

That topic can be debated ad nauseam, but the order is set and Michigan has to go through the SEC to sit atop the throne of the college football world to be called No. 1 squad at the conclusion of the 2021-22 season.
