Michigan football will play in the Big Ten championship game for the first time Saturday night and here are five predictions for the Wolverines against Iowa.

With Ohio State in the way, a trip to Indianapolis seemed somewhat impossible for the Wolverines. But Michigan football finally conquered the Buckeyes and now, the Wolverines set their sights on the Big Ten championship.

Awaiting the Wolverines is Iowa. Many expected the Wisconsin Badgers to be the opponent, but the Badgers fell to Minnesota and the Hawkeyes were the benefactor.

Iowa is 10-2 and who knows, if there is pure insanity, Iowa could make a case for a top-6 ranking for the playoff if things get wild.

Both teams want to win the Big Ten championship desperately. Neither team has won since they shared the title in 2004 and on Saturday, Michigan or Iowa will break that streak. Who will it be?

Here are our five predictions.

1. Michigan football won’t overlook Iowa

The first question many ask about this game, is, will Michigan look past Iowa? Can it move past the emotional win over Ohio State and focus on the Hawkeyes?

My answer is yes.

Jim Harbaugh said last week “Was just the beginning.” And he’s not alone. Aidan Hutchinson wants to be a Big Ten champion just like his dad and I think he’ll be exceptional.

This team has had a championship mindset from the start and I don’t see that focus waning at all this week. Iowa could win the game, but it won’t be because Michigan is overlooking them.
