For the first time in 17 years, the Wolverines could be crowned Big Ten champions. With only one game standing between Michigan, a Big Ten title, and a College Football Playoff berth, the second-ranked Wolverines will finally have their chance at football immortality.

As senior running back Hassan Haskins barreled his way into the end zone; the Big House crowd erupted with joy as the Wolverines took a 42-27 lead over Ohio State.

With only two minutes remaining, Michigan football fans began preparing to storm the field. For the first time since 2011, the Wolverines knocked off the Buckeyes; and for the first time since 2004, Michigan will have an opportunity to claim a Big Ten Championship.

On Saturday, No. 2 Michigan (11-1 overall, 8-1 Big Ten) will square off against No. 13 Iowa (10-2, 7-2 Big Ten) in Indianapolis, IN, for the coveted Big Ten championship.

The Wolverines, who are coming off of a program-changing 42-27 win over Ohio State last Saturday, open as 10.5-point favorites according to WynnBet’s odds, over the Hawkeyes, who narrowly defeated Nebraska 28-21 in their final game of the season.

In recent weeks Iowa has not seemed as dominant as people once thought they were at the beginning of this year. Nonetheless, the Hawkeyes are 10-2 and hungry for their first Big Ten championship since 2004 when they tied Michigan for 1st-place in the Big Ten.

Michigan football will also come into Saturday’s game looking for its first Big Ten title since 2004. With both programs hungry to end their title drought, this Saturday’s match-up should be a close, high-intensity game from start to finish.

First, a look at the Michigan offense heading into the Big Ten Championship game.
