Michigan basketball will take on the North Carolina Tar Heels on December 1st in part of the BIG TEN vs ACC challenge. The tipoff is at 9:15 EST in Chapel Hill.

Both Michigan basketball and North Carolina are coming off a well-deserved break from basketball after both schools ran a pretty tough gauntlet of teams early in the season. The #24th ranked Wolverines will go to Chapel Hill looking to dethrone North Carolina in their own backyard.

There’s a lot to focus on for this game, most specifically how Michigan basketball is going to rebound from their lackluster performance against Tarleton State, who is apparently a lot better than we thought at first.

Michigan has a huge test Wednesday in what will be an awesome appetizer for what’s to come this weekend in regards to Michigan sports. Here are some things to watch for while the Wolverines take on the Tar Heels.

1. Will offensive production be ramped up?

Michigan’s going into a very hostile environment, it’ll be important that the Wolverines maintain success throughout the game by hitting the shots they need to hit. Michigan is only averaging 71ppg, nearly 12 fewer than the Tar Heels.

Defensively, the Tar Heels are one of the worst in Division I. The Tar Heels currently allowing 78ppg compared to Michigan’s staggering 64ppg. While it doesn’t seem that much the Tar Heels allowed 83+ points in back-to-back games to Charleston and Brown.

Caleb Houstan needs to find his rhythm and start knocking down those shots from deep. His draft stock has taken a huge toll because of it and it’s a shame to see such a young bright talent struggle. We know what he’s capable of, we know he’s capable of taking over a game, so let’s see him stand out and take over the Tar Heels.
