1. The offensive line won the war in the trenches

Michigan’s offensive line saved its best performance of the season for Ohio State today. They sealed blocks that the backs could work their way through for substantial gains all day. Hassan Haskins was the primary beneficiary with five touchdowns because of their hard-working efforts to win the line of scrimmage.

Their physicality eventually wore down the Buckeyes defense and that’s exactly what Jim Harbaugh football is all about. They were stronger at the point of attack and that paid off for them by running for nearly 300 yards. Perhaps more importantly, they didn’t allow a sack on McNamara or J.J. McCarthy either.

Haskins has now hit paydirt seven times in the last two games. It was also his fourth straight contest where he had over 20 carries and didn’t flinch once. Thanks to his offensive line, Haskins will be remembered for centuries with a five touchdown performance that got the Ohio State monkey off their backs.
