3. Will the defense improve?

In past years, the one that we could almost always count on for every Michigan Basketball team was that the Wolverines were going to play smothering defense and they made you shoot the ball over them.

Michigan hardly gave wide-open looks, played ultra-aggressive on the 3 point line, and had fantastic fundamentals. Fast forward to this season and we’ve seen the epic collapse of what was once hailed an amazing defense.

Players are getting wide open from the perimeter with nobody in the vicinity of them. While the defense has been great at times, they’ve yet to play a complete game that we know this team is capable of doing.

I think against Tarleton is the best opportunity to showcase how elite this defense truly is. While it may not seem that way now, we’ve seen enough to know that they can play at the level defensively that we expect them to.
