Michigan football lambasted Maryland setting up the long-awaited confrontation between the Wolverines and the Buckeyes for the Big Ten East crown in the Big House next Saturday afternoon.

Michigan football wasn’t caught looking ahead today as it did its part to ragdoll the Terps from the word go.

The Wolverines jumped out to a 14-0 advantage before Maryland could even get points on the board in the second quarter. Michigan football eventually got the ball back thanks to a blocked punt by Matt Torey.

The Wolverines were on their way after that moment occurred. They took a 21-3 lead following two of the most attention-getting grabs by Andrel Anthony and Mike Sainristil that ended with a touchdown on that same series.

The Wolverines would have had another trip to the endzone before the break, but the play got penalized due to a chop block by Hassan Haskins.

Michigan opened the second half by driving nine plays and capping it off with a second Haskins touchdown on the day. Maryland responded with a nine-play drive of their own to close the gap, but that didn’t last long at all.

On the ensuing kickoff, Michigan displayed some trickery when Michael Barrett fielded the kick and threw it all the way across the field to A.J. Henning who took it to the house.

Maryland answered to cut it to 20, but that was all the Terps could do from that point on. The maize and blue went on a scoring spree that started with a 77-yard touchdown grab by Donovan Edwards.

Then D.J. turner tippy-toed the sidelines for a 42-yard pick-six and finally, they closed it out with a 5-yard rumble to the house by McCarthy to put an end to Maryland’s misery at 59-18.

Here are the key takeaways from Michigan football’s win over Maryland.
