3. Michigan football can let Maryland beat itself

While Tagovailoa has had a big season, he can be prone to turning the ball over. He has thrown 10 interceptions this season, nine of which came against Iowa, Ohio State, Penn State, and Michigan State. Maryland is 97th in turnovers with 17, 117th in turnover margin, and 93rd in havoc allowed.

Michigan is tied for 35th in turnovers forced. However, the Wolverines have been one of the best teams at protecting the football with just six turnovers, tied for 11th in the country, and are 22nd in turnover margin.

Maryland is also 97th in penalties per game and 92nd in penalty yards per game. Michigan is 29th in penalties per game and 20th penalty yards per game.

4. Nick Cross is a standout on defense.

Last week, Michigan faced one of the top safeties in the country in Jaquan Brisker. This week, the Wolverines will have to deal with another top safety in Nick Cross.

The former four-star has been the Terps’ best player on defense this season. He is second on the team in tackles with 56 and leads the team in interceptions with three to go along with five passes defended. Michigan will need to keep an eye on him.
