Defense: A

Sean Clifford was running for his life on Saturday, literally from start to finish. Michigan football finished with seven sacks, 12 tackles for loss, and four hurries.

The Wolverines stripped Clifford of the ball a couple of times too and just didn’t get the bounce. Clifford found some success running the ball and the Nittany Lions reached 100 yards.

But Jahan Dotson was held in check and I believed he was going to get over 100 yards. Instead, Michigan football held him nine catches for 61 yards on a bunch of targets.

The Wolverines held Penn State to two field goals and also sniffed out a fake punt attempt on their second potential scoring drive.

More importantly, the Wolverines held Penn State out of the end zone with the score tied and also didn’t allow a score on Penn State’s final drive with the Nittany Lions down 21-17.

That was clutch and essential to getting the win.
