Michigan Basketball: 5 bold predictions for Wolverines in 2021-22
The streak stays intact
Michigan basketball has been among the most consistent programs in college basketball and the Wolverines have reached the Sweet 16 in each of the last four NCAA tournaments.
Obviously, the NCAA tournament wasn’t held in 2020, so we don’t know if Michigan would have extended the streak that year, but it doesn’t change the fact that the Wolverines have advanced to the second weekend of March Madness in four straight tournaments and will make it five in 2022.
It’s really hard to predict a team going to the Final Four, although this Michigan team certainly seems to have all the tools to do so, although U-M did last year too before getting upset.
A lot of the tournament depends on matchups and who gets hot, as well as who gets cold and as Michigan fans well know, staying healthy.
Who knows what would have happened with a healthy Isaiah Livers last season?
All you can do is put yourself in a position to be in those games every year, and I firmly believe Michigan will do that once again this season.
With this roster, the Final Four is very attainable but for now, the boldest prediction I will make is that the Wolverines make a fifth straight appearance in the Sweet 16.
