Michigan Basketball: 3 things to watch against Buffalo
3. Will Hunter Dickinson increase or decrease productivity?
Hunter Dickinson played one of the most important roles last year for the Wolverines on their Elite 8 run. His dominance did not go unnoticed last year as he currently is in contention for the Naismith Player of the Year trophy.
Hunter Dickinson against Wayne State looked more fit and agile in the paint, as well as in transition than he did last season as a freshman. He put solid numbers on limited minutes going 5/8 from the field putting up 14 points with nine boards. We saw an improved version and a more polished playstyle against Wayne State.
Early on during the Wayne State game, we saw Dickinson attempt a few right hook shots which were a challenge for him last season. Hunter will prove against Buffalo if he really has a right hook in his arsenal of moves in the paint, or if it was just a fluke.
Last season, Hunter averaged roughly 14,7,1 last season being a menace in the paint and forcing teams to redesign their offense when playing Michigan.
His high energy matched with his high productivity made him a focal point in the media ultimately hyping up for what will be season 2 in the Hunter Dickinson era starting against Buffalo.
