Michigan Football: 3 takeaways from mundane win over Indiana
By Nick Popio
Hassan Haskins was a one-man workload
The senior captain had another splendid performance with a season-high 168 yards rushing. Early in the outing, Blake Corum went out of the game with an injury and never returned. Haskins had to put the heavy burden of carrying the rock on his back because of this and because Donovan Edwards was unavailable to play.
The offensive line deserves a huge pat on the back for opening several holes for Haskins to run through. They paved the way for Haskins to be a one-man show and for the entire group, who eclipsed 400 yards in the victory. Haskins also punched it in for his 10th rushing touchdown of the season to equally match Corum’s output.
In reference to Corum, coach Harbaugh said “he didn’t think it was serious.” He wasn’t exactly sure of the status of his star running back, but talking to him afterward he said “it looks like something less than serious and we’ll see” when it comes to next week’s clash at Penn State. You have to believe that Corum is way too tough to sit out in one of Michigan’s most important games of the season.
