Win the turnover battle or just don’t lose it

Michigan football leads the nation with the fewest turnovers lost this season with just two total. That’s an impressive statistic and when it comes to Cade McNamara, he’s the only quarterback in the country, according to Pro Football Focus, who has taken over 100 snaps and hasn’t made a turnover-worthy play.

McNamara did throw an interception against Nebraska but he also thought the Huskers were offsides on that play, even though the penalty wasn’t called.

McNamara has been incredible taking care of the ball and has also taken just one sack. Northwestern has 10 takeaways to its credit this season and it’s going to need to get two or three if it wants to pull an upset Saturday.

If there is one statistic that leads to teams winning games, it’s the turnover battle and the Wolverines have dominated in that area.

Northwestern has turned the ball over 10 times this season and it hasn’t faced a defense as talented as Michigan’s or a pass rush with Aidan Hutchinson and David Ojabo, not to mention Daxton Hill who is all over the place.

So to quickly recap, Michigan needs to show up, run the ball and take care of it. If it does that, it will head to East Lansing 7-0.
