Michigan Football: 3 things Wolverines must fix during the bye week
Michigan football is off to a 6-0 start but the Wolverines aren’t perfect and here are three things that need to be fixed during the bye week.
If you would’ve asked pretty much any Michigan football fan coming into the season that, at the bye week, the team would be 6-0, they would’ve probably thought you were crazy.
Well, that thought is an actual reality right now. Michigan football is 6-0 headed into their bye week. The main reason that the Wolverines are 6-0 is because of vast improvements in the run game this year compared to last year, which opens up the passing game more, and drastic improvements on all three levels of the defense, from the front four, to the LBs, to the DBs.
Add all of that up, and you have the #41 total offense in the country (that number should only improve once Michigan plays the easier teams on the schedule like NW, Maryland, and Indiana) and the #24 total defense in the country (although it should be higher but the Nebraska game kind of dipped Michigan’s number a little bit).
Again, if you would’ve told me that before the season, Michigan would have a top-50 offense and a top-25 defense, I wouldn’t have truly believed it but here we are.
It hasn’t been all fun and games for Michigan. As with after every game, there are things to work on, and now that Michigan has a bye at the halfway point of the season (wow, already halfway done with the season, the season has gone by quick) it’s time to review the three biggest things the Wolverines need to work on to maximize their ceiling and finish the season with 10+ wins.
