2. Establish the Run Early

Michigan football is still one of the nation’s leading rushing teams averaging 255ypg on the ground to date.

While the last two games against Rutgers and Wisconsin have seen their rushing numbers dip, it was arguably the physicality in both games on the ground that allowed Michigan football to come out on top. The same can be said for this matchup against the Cornhuskers.

While Nebraska does have an impressive run defense, the Huskers are not to the level that Washington and Wisconsin were and are.

From a personnel standpoint, schematically and statistically, those teams presented bigger challenges, and the Wolverines handled them with ease.

Don’t put the ball in harm’s way early. Don’t get cute with it. Pound the rock early and often.

Wear down the Nebraska defensive line and come the fourth quarter this game should be in hand.
