What this game could mean for the rest of the 2021 season

The Wolverines have an absolute gauntlet ahead of them in conference play.

They have road tests against Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan State, Penn State, and Maryland, with home tilts against Northwestern, Indiana, and Ohio State sprinkled in as well.

Winning this game could propel the Wolverines to a 2018-like run when they deployed their infamous “revenge tour” on the Big Ten (up until the Ohio State game).

For many of these players it will be their first road game in front of fans, and to do it in a hostile environment like Camp Randall, where Michigan has not won since 2001, will be a huge challenge.

However, if the Wolverines do walk away victorious, it could fill these young players with confidence as they march into Lincoln, Nebraska next week and other raucous stadiums throughout the season.

It is time to find out if this team truly is different than the ones that came before them.
