Michigan Football: 5 biggest storylines heading into Wisconsin
Can the Wolverines change the “big road game” narrative?
One of the most prominent statistics opposing fanbases like to use against Michigan Football Head Coach Jim Harbaugh is his road record against ranked teams since coming to Ann Arbor.
Harbaugh is 1-9 in those games and, while Wisconsin is not ranked after a 1-2 start with losses to Penn State and Notre Dame, they still present an immense challenge for the Wolverines.
The box score does not tell the story of how close that Notre Dame game truly was last weekend.
The score was 10-10 heading into the 4th quarter against the Irish and then everything spiraled out of control because of turnovers and poor special teams play on the Badgers’ part.
Having said that, Wisconsin was ranked 18th just last week and will likely finish the season inside the Top-25 regardless of what happens this Saturday simply because of how good their defense is.
The Badgers boast the top rushing defense in the country, and that alone will keep them in nearly every game they play from here on out.
Maybe this game won’t count towards the aforementioned statistic, but it is still a massive road test for Michigan football against a Wisconsin team that will have its back against the wall for fear of dropping to 1-3.
