Michigan Football: 5 Predictions for Wolverines against Rutgers
Cade shines again
It was great to see Cade McNamara have the first half that he did against Northern Illinois, but he needs to execute against better defenses and Rutgers will give him that chance.
The Scarlet Knights will be down a starter in the secondary and even though they have allowed just 46 percent of passes to be completed in three games, again those teams weren’t Michigan.
Although the weather might not be great on Saturday — there could be wind and rain to deal with — McNamara is going to have another solid outing after tossing three touchdowns against Rutgers a season ago.
I actually think he will find Cornelius Johnson for one of those touchdowns. Johnson went over 100 yards and had two scores against the Scarlet Knights and had a big game last week, one that could have been even bigger if Cade didn’t overthrow him on a post route.
At some point, Rutgers is going to have to start stacking the box to stop the run and Cade will take advantage. He may not throw 20 passes, but I see 180 yards and a TD or two on Saturday.
