Michigan Football: 3 Reasons Wolverines will beat Rutgers
By Josh LaFond
3. Championship Mindset
Defensive lineman Mike Morris said this recently during media availability:
"“As soon as we lose one game, everyone is gonna be like Michigan sucks again. So we’re just taking every game as an underdog game. Like, we’re underdogs against Rutgers. Everyone probably thinks we’re gonna lose that game. Everybody probably feels like we’re going to lose every game in the Big Ten right now. So, we’re just taking it as it’s us versus everybody. We don’t care whether that team is 3-0 or 0-3. We are just taking it one week at a time and kicking everyone’s butt.”"
Wow.
How many times have Michigan football fans complained in the comments section on this site, on the message boards of others, and screamed from the rooftops of the twitter-sphere that the Wolverines needed to “talk less and do more”.
Well, you got your wish.
If that’s how Mike Morris, a big-time defensive contributor feels, then you can bet your keister that’s how the team is operating top to bottom.
Rutgers only chance this game is that Michigan looks ahead to their impending battle with Wisconsin next week. But by all accounts, that’s not happening. The Scarlet Knights won’t be overlooked, and neither will anyone else.
A dominant performance is in the cards against Rutgers, and based on the championship level mindset that Mike Morris described, you can be certain that the expectation of a butt-kicking becomes a reality.
