Following an impressive opening win over Western Michigan, Michigan football turns its attention to the Washington Huskies in Week 2. Here are odds and a prediction.

Outside of the injury to Ronnie Bell, things couldn’t have gone much better for Michigan football in the first week of the 2021 season.

The Wolverines beat up a pretty solid Western Michigan team, winning a game they were favored to win by 17 and taking it by 33. Michigan football wasn’t perfect and there were some things that will need to improve on defense with Washington coming to Ann Arbor Saturday night.

While Michigan football has momentum, the Huskies are coming off the worst loss of any Power-5 program last week, becoming just the fifth-ranked team to ever lose to an FCS team.

To be fair, Montana is a powerhouse at that level, but still, the Huskies, who were 22-point favorites should have won the game, and now instead of Michigan football taking on a ranked opponent, the Wolverines face a team desperate for a win.

It should make for an interesting Saturday night. Here’s a look at the odds and our prediction.

Michigan Football vs Washington odds Week 2

The Week 2 betting odds on WynnBET have Michigan football favored over Washington right now by 6.5 points with an over/under set at 51.

Michigan Football vs Washington Prediction Week 2

It would be easy to look at Washington and think that Michigan football is going to win. But what happened last week has no bearing on Saturday night at the Big House.

Michigan is without Ronnie Bell, its leading receiver over the past two seasons, while Washington could be down as many as four wideouts against the Wolverines.

The Husky defense is stout though. It will test a Michigan offense which rushed for over 300 yards last week and created three scoring plays of 69 yards or score. U-M scored a pair of 70-yard touchdowns which is something that hasn’t happened in a decade.

I expected a defensive battle a week ago, and my thoughts haven’t changed. I’d give Michigan the slight edge in talent especially at quarterback and with the Wolverines playing at home, they pull out a 24-17 win.
