Duds

Ronnie Bell

Bell’s inclusion on this list has nothing to do with his play on Saturday.

In fact, I had him written down as a Stud in my notes after his fantastic catch, that ridiculously was called back after a questionable offensive pass interference penalty, down the sideline alone.

This is about his injury. Nothing has been made official yet, but the injury looked significant and Bell was in tears as he was carted off the field.

It’s a shame as he was having a breakout performance and looked like he had dramatically improved his game in just one offseason.

Prayers up to Ronnie Bell, we’re hoping for a speedy recovery!

The Dan Villari Experiment

Maybe this is an overreaction, maybe it isn’t.

Either way, on Saturday, the failed two-point conversion and his limited action late in the 4th quarter were pretty uninspiring.

Jim Harbaugh has sung Villari’s praises and hopes to use him much like the New Orleans Saints have with Taysom Hill, but it just didn’t work against the Broncos.

If it doesn’t work against Western Michigan, it probably won’t work against the Ohio State’s and Penn State’s of the world.

I’m going to keep the “Duds” list at just two this week as it was a pretty clean and efficient game in all three phases. Let’s hope that level of play continues into next week against a formidable opponent in the Washington Huskies.
