Ronnie Bell’s injury was deflating, but not a momentum killer in this one.

Ronnie Bell made his presence felt when Cade McNamara finally called his number. He made one of the most acrobatic one-handed grabs ever seen that was negated by a phantom offensive pass interference call. In the second, McNamara looked his way on a deep bomb that connected for six.

Bell was in one-on-one coverage and made his defender miss to gallop to the house for his only score of the contest.

Sadly on a punt return in quarter number two Bell got injured in a pile-up after a lengthy gain on the play. According to one of the photographers at the event, Bell was seen in a wheelchair in the tunnel of the stadium. Obviously things didn’t look positive as it could be a long-term injury that will keep one of Michigan’s top offensive threats out for some time.

The touchdown turned out to be Bell’s only reception on the afternoon as the passing game didn’t need to be that effective in the win.

McNamara was efficient, while only having two passes batted down as his only two incompletions. McNamara and the unit will have to find a way to function without Bell as others are now forced to be the next man up.
