Who wins?

Earlier this week, we broke down this matchup and it’s not going to be a pushover. This isn’t one of the worst teams in the MAC or anything and a talented QB is always something to worry about.

As I said earlier in these predictions, it wouldn’t be shocking if Western Michigan hung around in this matchup, especially in the first half.

The Wolverines could be a little sluggish. There are six new assistant coaches and on both sides of the ball. McNamara started last season but has never entered the season as the starter before.

I’ve got confidence in what he can do. He’s got the ability to lead Michigan football to eight or nine wins this season and starting strong against Western Michigan will be a start.

The defense is the big question. Can the secondary hold up better than a year ago? What about the run defense and the pass rush?

All those were areas of concern and Western Michigan is good enough to exploit some of those things. But in the end, Michigan is too talented and will run away with it in the second half.
