3. Home Field Advantage

Michigan football faithful, you’ve been gone for over a year. We all know how hard it was to watch about 300 fans spread out at the 50-yard line and the other hundreds of cardboard cutouts in the north end of the end zone.

Whether or not The Big House is packed to full capacity at 107,601 remains to be seen, but what we do know is that those who are there in attendance will be loud and proud.

To put the size of Michigan Stadium in comparison, the largest stadium that Western Michigan played in last year belonged to the Central Michigan Chippewas and Kelly Shorts Stadium. The capacity at their venue in Mount Pleasant? That would be 30,255.

Keep in mind that the Broncos, like most teams, played in mostly empty stadiums during their six-game shortened schedule of 2020. It’s going to be a wake-up call come Saturday when the Michigan band takes the field, Seven Nation Army starts playing, and the winged helmets start flying to the ball.

Despite a reputation for Michigan Stadium being an older, quieter crowd, you can bet the farm after not being able to meet at the corner of Stadium and Main St. that those in attendance will cause a ruckus.

The Broncos might be talented on offense and be motivated for the upset, but when the crowd is going nuts that can be a huge intimidation, something that might just lead the Wolverines to victory.
