3. Finish Strong

The recurring theme for Michigan football over the last few years? Not finishing games strong.

Humor me for a minute. Think back to Michigan’s best teams in the Harbaugh era. The 2015, 2016, and 2018 teams. What did they all have in common? They finished strong.

Even in defeat, those teams never packed it in and when they were winning, they kept the foot on the gas. That’s what great teams do.

As mentioned at the outset, you better believe that Tim Lester is going to have the Broncos fired up wanting revenge from the 2018 shellacking. They are going to give it everything they have.

If this iteration of the Maize and Blue is going to resemble any of those previously mentioned teams, then they will have already accomplished the first and second things mentioned in this article.

Here, with their third key to victory, the Wolverines have an opportunity to get back on track. Dominating Western Michigan from jump street is what this team needs. Don’t let up.

If they keep the foot off the gas and don’t finish strong, it won’t only be a long game come Saturday, but it’ll be a heckuva long season.
