All eyeballs will be on the Wolverines in Week 2, that’s if they can pass the sneaky Western Michigan test in the opener when they get to host Washington in primetime. That confrontation should be the determining factor on how the maize and blue will be in 2021. A win would do wonders for their confidence going into Big Ten play, while a loss puts them right back in square one.

Going to Wisconsin, Nebraska, Michigan State, and Penn State will be no picnic along with home face-offs with Northwestern and Indiana give the Wolverine one of the least favorable schedules in the land. It’s not going to be easy, but I see the Wolverines emerging out of the darkness of 2020 and forging on with an 8-4 record in 2021 when all the dust settles.

The expectations and soon-to-be outcomes for the 2021 Michigan football program will be determined by week two following the Washington game. How that primetime showdown under the lights is played out will give an accurate threshold as to how the Wolverines finish out under year-seven under Jim Harbaugh.

Looking at the schedule from an unbiased standpoint, there are roughly three to four guaranteed wins with the rest being trap games and plenty of uncertainty. If everything goes accordingly, Michigan could enter rivalry week against Ohio State with nine wins. Anything less than that by November 27 is a failure. Season Result: 8-4
