No. 2: 3-star DT Kenneth Grant

Speaking of guys that have needed a rankings boost, Kenneth Grant out of Merrillville, Indiana, finally got one this week.

Grant who is 6-foot-4, 335 pounds has developed into a top priority for the Wolverines. Not only does he play defensive tackle, with the ability to be a nose, but U-M also has zero commitments at defensive tackle so far in 2022.

Things aren’t looking great with Nolen and with Grant moving up to a four-star recruit by 247 sports, as well as the 507th overall after previously being unranked, shows how fast he’s rising.

Grant can multiple positions on the defensive front for the Wolverines and he would be a great fit alongside someone like Deone Walker.

Michigan has done really well with Grant and had him on campus over the summer, while also being slated to host him again in the fall. Ohio State and Wisconsin are the other schools in play, yet the Buckeyes are the real threat.

However, Michigan has recruited him as a top priority, while the Buckeyes haven’t necessarily shown him that same love. Will it matter in the end? It likely depends on how the Wolverines play this fall, as well as how the board shakes out for OSU.

I’m cautiously optimistic though.
