Projecting when Michigan Football will be featured on College GameDay
By Alex Hinton
Week 11 Penn State November 13th
The last two games on this list to be the most important in determining whether the Wolverines break through and go to the Big 10 Championship Game. Penn State has already announced the Michigan game would be their “Whiteout” game again.
Michigan fans may be dreading that after the Wolverines’ last two trips to Happy Valley. In 2017, the Nittany Lions beat Michigan soundly 42-13. In 2019, the Wolverines made a fervent second-half comeback before falling 28-21.
The last two meetings in Happy Valley were both at night. With this year’s matchup coming in November, it remains to be seen if that will be the case this year.
U-M will have the option to decline having the game played at night. It would behoove the Wolverines to do so, however, Michigan has not turned down road conference night November games in the past. Iowa in 2016 comes to mind.
If the game is played at night, that will increase the chances that it will be featured on College GameDay. As will the fact that Penn State will probably be pretty good this year.
If Michigan is too, it could be another top 15-20 matchup in Happy Valley. On the other hand, if Michigan is having a really good year, College GameDay could opt to bypass this game in hopes of setting up the last game on this list.
