Michigan Football: What we’ve learned so far in fall camp
A much better culture
One thing that desperately needed to improve with Michigan was the culture and with a complete makeover of the coaching staff, the culture is much improved.
Guys like Hutchinson and Josh Ross talked about this at Big Ten Media Days, but the Wolverines are focused on making amends for last season and getting back to being Michigan football.
Ross even said about last season: “That wasn’t Michigan football.”
Jim Harbaugh seems reinvigorated (see him pushing the sled below) and the hires of Mike Macdonald, Ron Bellamy, Mike Hart, Clink, Matt Weiss, and George Helow are getting positive reviews from the players.

As a program, Michigan is emphasizing the Ohio State game more and this team really has that 2015 feel to it. They are underdogs and people are doubting the head coach more than ever.
The vibe is good too as Howard Griffith of the BTN noticed last week:
"“I think this entire team is really well-coached,” Howard Griffith said on BTN Live. “I like the vibe of the team. There’s a lot of teaching going on.”"
Then on Monday night, a bunch of Michigan football players posted similar messages on social media saying how much they love their team and this program.
It’s easy to be optimistic before a snap has been played this season. However, you can’t deny the positive energy this team has surrounding it.
Of course, one bad performance can suck all of that way in an instant and there will be tough times this year. But I expect Michigan football fans will be proud in 2021 and so far, I feel good about what we’ve seen and heard from fall camp.
