More information keeps coming out about the Michigan football BBQ from last week, plus the Wolverines offered a recent Ohio State decommitment.

It’s been a crazy few days for Michigan football on the recruiting trail following the Big House BBQ and while the Wolverines have certainly taken some hits, there are some positive developments.

First off, it became official with Dillon Bell on Monday as he committed to the Georgia Bulldogs as expected. The writing was on the wall there as soon as his visit last weekend was reported.

Despite being just a three-star recruit, Bell was rising fast. He also had the ability to play running back and wide receiver. His versatility was an asset and I really liked his potential. But, it’s time to move on and the staff is doing exactly that with new receiver and running back offers.

Yet, another offer that went out Monday that was a little more interesting went to former Ohio State commitment and five-star cornerback in 2021, Jahiem Singletary.

Singletary is the 13th-ranked prospect in the 2022 class out of Jacksonville, Florida. The Wolverines obviously have ties there with George Helow and Will Johnson started recruiting Singletary on Twitter, but this feels like a long shot.

The five-star just spent the weekend in Miami and it seems like the Hurricanes might be the favorite, although Georgia is still heavily involved as well. Michigan football is right to shoot its shot, but I wouldn’t get my hopes up.

More intel from Michigan BBQ

While things aren’t looking that great with Singletary, the Wolverines appear to have an opening with another recently offered defensive back and that’s Ephesians Prysock.

Prysock is 6-foot-3, 170 pounds out of Mission Hills, California. He was re-offered by Courtney Morgan and the Michigan football staff and just took a visit to the BBQ.

Prysock’s only other visit was to Ohio State, but it doesn’t seem like the Buckeyes are pushing super hard for his commitment. There are some other schools involved in his recruitment, although UCLA might be the biggest threat right now.

The four-star defender is ranked 210th overall and 25th among cornerbacks. He also played wide receiver last season in high school. And according to Greg Biggins of 247 sports (subscription required), his visit to Ann Abror helped the Wolverines “make a move.”

Michigan also seems to have made some headway with three-star defensive tackle Kenneth Grant, who visited over the weekend. Wisconson and Ohio State are both in the mix. The Buckeyes offered Grant while he was on campus but he didn’t commit.

And he said that Michigan football felt like home after his visit for the Big House BBQ.

Grant is 6-foot-4, 335 pounds and is unranked in the 247 sports composite rankings. Yet, he does hold an Ohio State offer and is ranked 74th among D-lineman by 247 sports own rankings.

In his interview with Brice Marich, Grant hinted at a decision coming soon and if that winds up being true, the Wolverines have to feel good about their standing.

Deone Walker also visited but with Alabama offering him over the weekend, it actually looks like Grant could be the first to make a decision and if it does come in the next few weeks, the Wolverines really need to find a way to close.
