3-star LB Deuce Spurlock (neutral)

It will be interesting to watch what happens with three-star Alabama linebacker Deuce Spurlock. He’s ranked 1,193 in the 247 sports composite rankings for 2022 but the staff views him as a take and after missing on Patton and Sebastian Cheeks, he could be the next man up.

Spurlock did receive an offer from South Carolina on Sunday and Mississippi State has also been in the mix. In fact, the Bulldogs have been viewed as the other top contender.

It might come down to how hard Michigan football pushes here, but also how receptive Spurlock will be since the Wolverines have been hot and cold.

4-star LB Lander Barton (neutral)

Out of Patton, Cheeks, and Lander Barton, a four-star linebacker from the state of Utah, the Wolverines probably would have taken Barton. The staff really likes him and he’s been compared to Brian Urlacher.

The problem is that his family has a bunch of Utah legacies. He is also from that state and has two crystal ball projections to the Utes already. If Barton takes a visit, maybe Michigan will have a chance but it’s hard to be optimistic.

5-star OT Josh Conerly (up slightly)

Five-star tackle Josh Conerly visited the Big House over the weekend, which was a positive for the Wolverines but I wouldn’t get too excited. He is expected to visit this fall but Washington is the crystal ball leader and still feels like the favorite.

Even then, it sort of feels like a longshot but Michigan can at least be considered a contender and it’s worth fighting to the finish line.

WR’s Dillon Bell and Darrius Clemons (time to sell)

Bell is going to commit to Georgia this week. He had a bunch of crystal ball projections to Michigan football that have now flipped. He’s announcing his commitment this week. Darrius Clemons also narrowed his list to Penn State, Oregon, and Auburn, eliminating the Wolverines.
