4-star DT Deone Walker (Neutral)

Before Alabama offered Walker on Sunday, I would have said that the Wolverines stock moved up with the four-star defensive tackle from Detroit Cass Tech.

The 6-foot-6, 340-pounder was on campus for the Big House BBQ this weekend and so was his friend and Michigan commit Mario Eugenio.

Eugenio alluded to recruiting on his Twitter account and Walker was certainly a target. He has talked about deciding later on in the process and if he wants to visit Alabama in the fall, he will have to. But U-M needs to push for a decision and a commitment.

Either way, Walker is a must-get in 2022.

3-star DL Isaiah Hastings (Stock up)

Isaiah Hastings is also from Florida like Eugenio and he’s another D-line recruit the Wolverines are targeting at 6-foot-4, 290 pounds. He’s Canadian and hasn’t played football for all that long.

But he’s big and talented. He’s got tons of upside and he was on campus this weekend for the BBQ. With Nolen’s recruitment trending more towards the SEC, Hastings is becoming more of a focus, and the staff should prioritize him.

3-star DL Kenneth Grant (Stock up)

Out of Indiana, Kenneth Grant is another big body that Michigan football is pushing for in the 2022 recruiting class. He visited this weekend and while Wisconsin and Ohio State are the rivals in this recruitment, the Wolverines might be out in front.

It really depends on Ohio State. He was offered by the Buckeyes but didn’t commit right away, which is sort of a surprise when he visited. It’s a dead period now and this one seems headed to the fall but getting him back to campus will be key and this is a battle U-M can win.
