Michigan Football: More visitors make plans for Big House BBQ
The Michigan football recruiting BBQ is this weekend and here’s a look at the list of visitors that just keeps growing and growing.
The Big House BBQ is always an important weekend for Michigan football recruiting. Not only will it give the Wolverines a chance to get more 2022 targets/commitments on campus, but also a number of recruits in 2023, 2024, and beyond.
According to the list compiled by Maize and Brew, Michigan football will have seven 2022 commits on campus this weekend, including five-star cornerback Will Johnson. The others are Kody Jones, Aaron Alexander, Tyler Morris, Mario Eugenio, CJ Stokes, and Alessandro Lorenzetti.
It’s always good to get Johnson on campus as holding his commitment is still the most important priority for the 2022 class. As of now though, it seems solid.
However, with Florida coming after four-star corner Kody Jones, it’s big to get him on campus, as well as Eugenio, which we talked about on Thursday, due to the potential impact it could have on guys like Deone Walker and Isaiah Hastings, two top targets in 2022.
Five-star offensive tackle Josh Conerly is also going to be in attendance, which is important to stay in that race, as well as Kenneth Grant. Michigan football is also hosting Kentucky verbal commit, Andre Stewart in addition to Notre Dame commit Amorion Walker.
Brice Marich of The Michigan Insider first reported the news on Stewart. He also reported that four-star DB Ephesians Prysock, who is ranked 211th overall in 2022, will also visit. He has only visited Ohio State up to this point and is listed at 6-foot-3, 170 pounds.
With Stewart, there has been talk of him playing cornerback or safety at Michigan, and with Dillon Tatum wavering on a commitment, it might be a good time to push for the SEC pledge.
QB’s also in attendance
While Dante Moore wasn’t on the list of attendees, Michigan football is still hosting a trio of important quarterback targets over the weekend including CJ Carr, the son of Lloyd Carr.
Carr feels like he will be a top priority at the position in 2024 for the Wolverines, who are also hosting in-state QB, Isaiah Marshall. The 2025 class is also represented as quarterback Ryan Montgomery will be attending the BBQ.
Moore is the key guy for 2023 and he’s been on campus a few times, but it will be nice to get some other key QB targets to Ann Arbor, as well as a bunch of other key in-state prospects.
