Who could commit next?

As far as who could be next to join the 2022 recruiting class? Well there are a few good options, one of them is running back/wide receiver Dillon Bell.

Bell has been trending with crystal ball predictions to the Wolverines and while he previously talked about deciding in November, on his birthday, there is some thought he could decide sooner. He also just released a top list, which could mean he’s close to deciding or that he wants to keep things open and be recruited by those teams.

It struck me as odd that he would release a top eight list if he was on the verge of a decision. Georgia, Texas A&M, Auburn, and Mississippi State made the cut, as well as Baylor, Minnesota and Houston. Michigan football might still be the favorite but the longer it goes, the more schools like A&M and Georgia can gain traction.

Two other top targets that could be on the verge of commitments are Dillon Tatum and Deone Walker, the top in-state recruits left on the board.

Walker is close with Eugenio and there is talk of them going to the same team. Walker is from Cass Tech and he’s been trending with picks to the Wolverines. Like Bell, he has talked about deciding later, but it wouldn’t be shocking if he pledged a little earler than expected.

With Walker it’s more of a when, not if, right now for Michigan football. That could change but the Wolverines are the clear favorite despite an impressive offer list. Yet, with Dillon Tatum, another possible commitment in July, U-M is far from the clear leader, despite owning all of his crystal ball projections.

Tatum was originally going to decide in April and then pushed that back to June. No decision came and now, we are about midway through July. He told 247 sports that he wanted to visit Michigan football and Michigan State one more time before making a final decision, so his timeline could be pushed back even farther.

"“I’m probably, most likely going to go back to each one of the schools and see where I’m more comfortable at,” Tatum said. “It’s just really where I want to be the most because you can’t go wrong with either one of those schools.”"

Still, with a few weeks left in July and Tatum being very familiar with the Spartans and Wolverines, a decision is coming soon. He wants it over before high school football starts and a delay into August puts him at the far end of that timeline.

Next. 5 potential commitments in July. dark

So a decision this month is still possible.
