Michigan football is trending with Myles Pollard but the Wolverines also have a shot at Micah Pollard according to one expert.

If all goes to plan on Wednesday, Michigan football will be adding its third commitment in four days to the 2022 recruiting class in three-star cornerback Myles Pollard.

But according to one recruiting expert, EJ Holland of Rivals, Michigan football may not be done with Pollard’s as the Wolverines are making a move with linebacker Micah Pollard too.

Pollard, a three-star edge rusher/linebacker, took a visit to Michigan in June and the Wolverines appeared to be the favorite. Mike Farrell, a national analyst at Rivals, was among those who put in a Futurecast pick, projecting him to the Wolverines.

But Pollard didn’t wind up committing and things started trending to Auburn. A slew of picks from Rivals projected him there and that’s also where the crystal ball predictions have been leaning.

Yet, according to Holland, there has been a change and after putting in a pick for Auburn, he’s flipped it back to Michigan. Nobody else has made that change yet and Pollard doesn’t have a decision date, but there was confidence that he could commit before, so why not now?

Jeremy Patton, a three-star linebacker from Texas appears close to committing, but I have the feeling he’s going to stay closer to home. That could be why Michigan is more on Pollard, who can rush the passer and play linebacker.

Micah is ranked No. 551 overall in 2022 according to the 247 sports composite and is the No. 78 recruit out of the state of Florida.

Where do things stand with Myles Pollard?

In terms of Pollard, the cornerback, Michigan feels like the favorite but there hasn’t been a large influx of crystal ball predictions. Only Sam Webb of The Michigan Insider has put in a pick. He’s projecting Pollard to Michigan with a confidence level of six on a scale of 1-10.

Pollard is a four-star recruit according to Rivals, despite being just a three-star in the 247 sports composite rankings, he also has seven Futurecast picks projecting him to Michigan. If you add that to Webb’s prediction, that’s eight in favor of U-M and none for anyone else.

Oklahoma still worries me. The Sooners have always felt like the biggest threat in Pollard’s recruitment, but the timing favors the Wolverines and with the addition of Steve Clinkscale, I feel confident in Pollard picking Maize and Blue.
