4-star C Tarris Reed

With Clingan coming off the board, Michigan basketball has been turning up the heat on four-star center Tarris Reed, who is a 6-foot-10 big man out of Branson, Missouri.

Reed is ranked 71st overall in the 247 sports composite rankings for 2022 and he just finished up a visit with the Wolverines, which went well according to Sam Webb of the Michigan Insider (subscription required).

Ohio State, Michigan State, and Purdue are all involved here and the Spartans hosted Reed for an official visit during the first part of June.

But with no clear favorite at the center spot now for Michigan in 2022, the Wolverines could make a real impact if they push hard with Reed and prioritize him.

Reed has good size for the Big Ten and he’s more of a classic big. No matter how skilled you are, you will need some 6-foot-10 (at least) dudes to win in the Big Ten and Reed is exactly that kind of big. He’s also probably the most realistic option for Michigan at this point with no clear favorite.
