Juwan Howard has taken the recruiting world by storm, landing the Big Ten’s best class in each of his first two cycles as the head man of Michigan basketball.

Howard has shown no signs of slowing down anytime soon, in fact, many suspect that the former Fab Five member is just getting started, and here’s who I predict to pledge to the Wolverines as part of the 2022 cycle.

Dug McDaniel, PG (Committed)

2022 point guard recruiting was anything but boring not only for the staff but for fans as well.  The staff drew interest from three prospects, all unique in their own way.  Before Dug McDaniel made his pledge, Michigan basketball was also heavily interested in Seth Trimble, who has since committed to North Carolina, and Jaden Bradley, who remains undecided.

It was likely a first-come, first-served situation between the three prospects, and McDaniel was well aware.  The 5-foot-9 145 pound guard secured his spot in the Wolverines’ class on his official visit, making him the first member of the class.

McDaniel hails from the DMV area, which also produced fellow Wolverines Hunter Dickinson and Terrance Williams.  The Virginia native is a small and shifty guard, with elite court vision and playmaking ability.  He isn’t going to back anyone down in the low post, but instead, he’ll bring a Zavier Simpson type of play to an incredibly talented Michigan team.

McDaniel and Howard have developed a tight bond, and it would come as quite a shock if he backed out of his commitment to the program.  Expect McDaniel to be the point guard of the 2022 recruiting class.
