After getting a commitment from a three-star running back, will Michigan football add any more over the weekend?

Michigan football is in “go mode” right now when it comes to recruiting with over 16 kids on their official visits this weekend. The Wolverines have to play their cards right while hosting some highly-ranked high school kids from all over the country.

Obviously, Jim Harbaugh and new defensive coordinator Mike MacDonald have been recruiting hard on the defensive side of the ball. Michigan commit’s Will Johnson, Kody Jones and Tyler Morris will be on campus, trying to do everything they can to put a “good” bug in the ears of these recruits so that they will possibly listen and join them in Ann Arbor next season.

Five-star defensive tackle Walter Nolen (6-4, 300) has arrived for his official visit following by his great visit at Florida recently.

Michigan really has a chance to flip the table and blow his mind in Ann Arbor. Nolen has family that lives in Detroit and Nolen’s mother is a big fan of the Wolverines.

This is a plus for Michigan. It’s one of the little things that could matter when looking at why he could end up playing in the Big House next fall.

Michigan hosting a bunch of visitors

Michigan football has a number of other key targets that are visting this weekend: DT Tawfiq Thomas, WR Dillion Bell, Edge Mario Eugenio, RB George Pettaway, DL Justice Finkley, DB D’Arco Perkins-McAllister, OL Alessandro Lorenzetti.

CJ Stokes is also in Ann Arbor on an official visit and wound up committing to the Wolverines and running backs coach Mike Hart.

Two other in-state targets, Dillion Tatum and Deone Walker are also expected to take an “unofficial visit” which is important, especially with Tatum.

Michigan can possibly close the deal on securing Tatum as it has come down to Michigan State and Michigan.

With the dead period now over and COVID protocols mostly lifted, Michigan football can catch some of the big fish around the country, by getting them on campus and blowing them away as the Wolverines did with elite tight end Oscar Delp.

It’s going to be an interesting weekend for the 2022 recruiting class. We shall see how everything unfolds, but it’s possible Michigan football adds even more commitments from recruits while they are on campus.
