Michigan Basketball: Breaking down Wolverines PG candidates for 2022
Michigan basketball is allowed to host recruits with the dead period being lifted and here’s a look at three point guards who will visit in June.
Things are about to pick up steadily for Michigan basketball when it comes to recruiting with a bunch of recruits set to take visits to Ann Arbor this month.
It’s significant because this is the first time that players have been able to go on campus since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
And for Michigan basketball, these visits are going to be an important part of building the 2022 recruiting class.
Ty Rodgers, one of the top recruits in the state of Michigan for 2022, is in Ann Arbor for a visit today and tomorrow. He also recently picked up a crystal ball projection to the Wolverines.
Jett Howard is expected to be part of Michigan’s 2022 class and his crystal ball projections reflect that. Rodgers has just one crystal ball prediction, but what’s interesting is that two point guards have gotten predictions to Michigan recently.
One of those is Seth Trimble, who just took a huge leap in the Rivals rankings for 2022, moving all the way into the top 40. He’s visiting Michigan basketball this month as are two other four-star point guards in Jaden Bradley and Dug McDaniel.
Things are definitely starting to heat up with Bradley visiting this week and here’s a case for why each point guard could wind up in Michigan’s 2022 class.
Jaden Bradley
Bradley is going to be the first of the three to visit and we’ll start with him. He’s ranked ninth overall in the 2022 class and is the second-ranked point guard according to the 247 sports composite rankings.
Michigan has been in the mix with Bradley in large part because of Juwan Howard. And that’s why U-M could have a chance to make an impression when he visits Ann Arbor.
Howard has proven to be one of the best recruiters in the country and he’s likely to leave a positive impression on Bradley. However, Bradley was thought to be a Kentucky lean and has crystal ball projections to Kentucky and North Carolina.
Bradley is visiting North Carolina, Arizona, and Alabama. He’ll have a chance to take more visits later and if the Tar Heels ended up beating out Michigan for Bradley, it could make things easier with someone else like Trimble.
