Center: Hunter Dickinson, Diabate, Williams

There’s no doubt about who Michigan basketball’s starting center is going to be. That’s Hunter Dickinson, the sophomore-to-be who earned All-American honors as a freshman. He’s also becoming an expert on trolling the Spartans as he did with Emoni Bates decommitment.

He was the Wolverines leading scorer last season, as well as the Big Ten Freshman of the Year. He’s dominant down low and U-M will likely continue to run a lot of offense through him.

But what happens when Dickinson is off the court? Last season, the answer was pretty simple with Austin Davis on the bench. But those 10 really productive minutes big country gave the Wolverines won’t be there this season.

Diabate will likely fill some of those minutes. If he’s not starting at the four, he seems like a natural fit to spell Dickinson, just because of his impact as a defender.

If you put Diabate at the five, Houstan at the four, with three other guard types, that could be a really interesting lineup. Williams should see more minutes at the five, along with Johns when needed but it’s mostly going to be the Dickinson/Diabate show in my opinion.
